Job Title: Applications Engineer

Summary
Under the guidance of the Applications Manager, the Applications Engineer is responsible for the development and verification of customer applications, performing acceptance testing, providing customer support on new/existing applications, performing feasibility studies, providing machine configuration suggestions, and providing customer training. The Applications Engineer will also support the Solution Center team in providing customer demonstrations, as needed. One of their primary goals is assisting in taking a customer’s concept to reality, helping in developing their process into final products, while providing unparalleled customer service.
Essential Functions

• Oversee the development and validation of customer applications from feasibility to production.
• Aid in the reviewing process of tooling design and provide suggestions on improvement.
• Oversee/assist with the installation, set-up, and programing of machine tooling required to perform the customer applications.
• Provide support to customers both during and after the sales process.
• Solve minor technical issues found during the commissioning, tooling validation, acceptance, and/or installation processes.
• Analyze customer drawings to determine the feasibility of an application utilizing BLM’s product offerings.
• Collaborate with Sales team to suggest features, accessories, and/or software products to aid the customer in their application.
• Conduct customer run-off acceptance tests, while managing the customer relationship and thoroughly documenting the results.
• Conducts customer training on the proper use and function of the Tube & Wire Forming Products.
• Executes the internal procedures of BLM GROUP USA to perform the required job functions to successfully complete Tube & Wire Forming Products projects.
• Maintains a positive rapport and business relationship with internal and external customers by providing outstanding customer service.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Ability to travel up to 50% as required by management.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant coursework in manufacturing/design/engineering or a related field is a plus
• 5+ years of experience in Tube Bending, Wire Bending, and/or End Forming processes (BLM products preferred)
• Experience in Tube Bending, Wire Bending, and/or End Forming tooling design, development, or review is preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with mechanical systems
• Strong electrical aptitude and hands-on experience with electrical systems
• Experience with 2D/3D design software is a plus (ex. SolidWorks, SolidEdge, AutoCAD)
• Experience with or the understanding of GD&T
• Intermediate understanding of bending tool designs and how they apply to specific machine and part applications is a plus
Licensing/Certifications
Valid Driver’s License with no more than two (2) points on a driving record within a three (3) year period

• Fluent in Italian and/or Spanish preferred, but not necessary
